Commissions!

This page will break down the pricing and process of hiring me for a custom painting (which is SUCH an honor thank you)! For you to recieve my best work, commissions must appeal to my personal art style, but I welcome requests that expand beyond my style within reason. This is a lot of information at one time, so if anything is confusing please contact me with questions! :)

DISCLAIMER I: I only accept commissions from people I know in person or by referral from a trusted friend/aquaintence or previous client, whether that be digitally or in real life. Commissions are generally not accepted from people with either no online mutuals or established real life connection. This is because of the unfortunate prevalence of online scammers and bots, which make it difficult to identify serious inquiries.

There is always the possibilty for exceptions on a case by case basis, and I am more than happy to answer any questions or read pitches made through my contact page!

Pricing:

The final commission price will be determined based on the size, anticipated workload, and needed materials. The price that I quote you after the consultation is the final price, and there will never be additional charges made based on my own miscalculation of work time or material cost.

Prices for standard canvas sizes (in inches) begin at:

8x10 and smaller - $125

9x12, 11x14, and 12x12 - $150

12x16 - $175

16x20 - $200

18x24 - $250

24x24 - $300

24x32 - $375

30x40 - $450

I can also make custom canvases of irregular sizes. You will be charged based on wherever the chosen dimensions fall on the standard size scale, plus an additional building fee:

4x4-11x11 - $25

13x13-17x23 - $50

19x25-23x31 - $75

25x33 and up - $100

Example: A 13"x17" canvas will cost $200, plus a building fee of $50.

Material costs depend on the subject, size, and detail of the piece. After the consultation, I will determine the material cost on a sliding scale of $20-$100. This (and the custom canvas fee if applicable) will be the deposit you pay before I start the piece, and then the rest will be paid when it is complete.

If the piece needs to be mailed, that must be communicated ahead of time because that will add a shipping fee.

Payment method will be discussed privately. Within reason, I can offer payment plans.

By the way, anyone who commissions me again gets the material cost taken off their final price as a thank you. :)

The process:

DISCLAIMER II: Oil paintings take time, both to create and to dry in order to varnish. If you are commissioning a gift, I will need at LEAST two months for smaller pieces, and 3-5 months for bigger pieces, but more time is greatly appreciated. I can prioritize gifts/time sensitive projects with no additional charge, but sufficient communication is crucial in the initial consultaion.

You can reach me through the contact page, by email, or through my personal number if you have it already. We can communicate through writing, phone call, or video call based on your preference. Give me your idea and reference photos if you have any (optional). From there we will discuss size, anticipated time frame, and other details. Once we reach a cohesive plan, I will give you the final price and deposit amount. If you'd like, I can keep you updated throughout the creation process with pictures to insure you approve of everything I am doing. Your satisfaction is top priority!

Once I finish painting, I like giving the piece a couple of weeks to a month to dry and settle before I varnish. Varnishing is important to protect the piece from environmental factors and to even out the paint's sheen (I can do a matte, satin, or gloss varnish). We will discuss varnishes when the piece is finished. Once the piece is varnished and the remainding payment is complete, it's all yours!

Thank you SO much for hiring me if you do. It seriously means so much to be given the trust to share my art in such an intimate way. Again, don't be shy to send me any questions. <3
