About Me
Hello! My name is Hannah and I am an oil painter based in Denver, CO. I grew up in Colorado Springs and have had the wonderful opportunity to share my art in multiple cities in Colorado, namely Denver and Fort Collins.
What mainly inspires my work are music, movies, nature, multicultural theology, fellow artists, and lived experiences as a woman. This often manifests visually into figures and portraits of women in classic pinup style poses, surrealistically embellished by moons, stars, foliage, and various other subjects. Habitually I take on emotional topics such as death, love, heartbreak, grief, and womanhood, but I also embrace random surrealistic or absurd ideas for paintings as well.
Although I’ve nestled into my signature aesthetic style, my body of work is a mosaic of artists that have inspired me throughout my life. Georgia O’Keefe and Frida Kahlo were the first artists to fully captivate me as a young child. I received two books as gifts that were (albeit childproofed) biographies of the two artist’s lives and work, and I fell in love with everything about their art. As I grew up I was introduced to many more artists, and some stuck out while others bored me. I took a particular liking to Salvador Dalí, Diego Rivera, Alphonse Mucha, Waterhouse, Botticelli, and Michelangelo.
I am blessed with a family that has nurtured my creativity, and I intend on leading my life as an artist first, whether it be through my career, how I conduct myself socially, or with how I perceive life, both emotionally and physically.
Thank you for visiting my website and looking at my work!
